Houston Weekend
We were in Houston this weekend hanging out with family and friends. We ate a lot of food as usual, and showed-off our daughter to a million people. Well, it wasn't so much us doing the showing off, but rather proud grandparents. My cousin Willie came with us, which was good as we spent some good time talking with each other during some downtime. Some of our other free time was spent chilling with Derrick and Angela. We are so thankful that they are so much closer to us now than before.
Chloe is interacting well with others which hopefully means she will be an outgoing kid, ready to explore the world.

CSS Noob
File this under the "Oh, that's somewhat nifty" category. I made a change to the CSS code on this site that limits the maximum width of images on the site. I added a simple line to the CSS code:
img {max-width:600px;}
What this does is that it limits the width of any image that is displayed in the blog posts here. This always had to be done anyways because of the way this layout is structured. Images that were too large would mess up the layout here, meaning that you had to contend with small pics. However, for those who read my blog through RSS feed should see the regularly-sized photos (depending on how your RSS reader displays oversized images).
See?
That Ol' Facebook

I think it's a sign I'm getting old, or at least that my friends are getting old. I feel like every time I log onto Facebook I see more pictures of babies and kids. Or is that a sign that Facebook is getting younger? I dunno, but with the original Facebook crowd getting older, it's only a trend that I assume I'll keep seeing. It's not just for college students anymore.
A twist in the story!
Yesterday afternoon I recieved a phone call from a number I didn't recognize. The person on the phone identified himself as an investigator with the Austin Police Department. A week ago, a stolen car was recovered and the investigator was looking at possible leads. The reason he called me was because a medical bill was found inside the stolen car with my name and address on it.
Turns out, this was the medical bill that was located in the dash pocket that was connected to my stolen stereo! I can only assume that the guy who stole my stereo and iPod, also stole this car, and then just randomly threw out this useless paper when he abandoned the vehicle.
Unfortunately, there was no sign of the stereo or the iPod in the recovered vehicle. The investigator said that chances are that those things have been pawned off already.
If anyone ever visits a pawn shop and finds a pink iPod nano (3rd generation) that is engraved with "To Carolyn, the one I love" and the date "July 19, 2008", there's a good chance that that's ours.
