Moving!
We found a new place to live! Last weekend the combined Sun and Su clan went out to look at an apartment complex off of Mopac and Southwest Parkway. It's close to church, but farther from school and work. After 4 hours (yes, hours), everyone finally felt like they had a good feeling about the place. Carolyn and I discussed things afterwards and we also felt like it was a good place for us. It was also exciting to know that our kid will grow up close to Aunt Katie, as she will only be two buildings down from us. I like the idea that we live right off of the bike route that Oliver and I take on the weekends, so no more disassembling/loading/reassembling the bike on Saturday mornings.
It has been somewhat overwhelming packing up an entire house up though. 1.5 years of stuff has to be organized and moved in the next 8 days. But we're taking the opportunity to throw out and donate a bunch of things. For us, there's a certain value in simplifying our lives, and also thinking about which of our belongings could be better used by other people. Going through our book collection, we see a bunch of books that we don't read anymore, or even books that Carolyn and I had two (or even three) of! I'm not sure how I ended up with three copies of "9 Marks of a Healthy Church"! I think it's really gotten us to think about what we really need, and what we're keeping just "because it's always been here".
Of course, we're also getting rid of things because we've got to make some room for the baby. So if you're looking for a bed, a bookshelf or a desk, let us know!
